SMITH My 50' Widescreen 1080i Rear Projection Television finally bit the dust. Since I recently purchased an LCD T.V. For another room, it was not an option to purchase another one here. I did a lot of research into projectors and decided to give this one a try. I found video's of this unit being played online as well as numerous reviews. The price is what caught my eye initially.

After doing the research on some of the higher end models I could see that the replacement bulb on those models were extremely expensive. Splinter Cell Blacklist Dlc Unlocker Download Windows. The great thing with this unit is they include one extra bulb. Additional bulbs are inexpensive compared to others. Also included are all the cables needed for hook up including an HDMI one.

I thought with the extra bulb and all the cables needed it was a great overall value. I had medium expectations on the quality as I was unsure on what to really expect. Out of the box I plugged in a standard DVD player and projected onto a white wall. The picture was amazing. I think 100' would be the maximum before getting too pixilated. I played around a bit between the 70'-80' range.

I then put up a white sheet on the wall. The picture was much clearer, image sharper, and colors more vivid. I then decided to bite the bullet on a wall mounted projector screen. I purchased a 70'x70'. Once I got it mounted it was night and day versus the white sheet on the wall.

I hooked up my Blu-Ray player and now I was truly impressed. The unit is used mostly for gaming purposes and those nights where you want the movie theater experience. To date I have not had any problems with the unit.

I ended up buying a bracket and mounting it to the ceiling. The only negative experience is the sound of the fans. Negative in the sense you have to get used to them and I can tell you that you forget about them once you start playing or have a movie on. I have a 7.1 audio system hooked up so for me it is easy to get past the initial start up.

The whole set up of projector, projector screen, and wall mount came to $298. That is far less than an LCD/DLP replacement and was exactly what I was looking for! 125 of 139 people found the following review helpful. Great By Husker This thing works GREAT!!!

Easy Set Up took some getting used too. You Must project from the center in order for it to work!

Also it is Easy to adjust but it takes some patience to get the perfect picture! Over all Great!! Would buy it again, It comes with an extra Bulb!! 57 of 62 people found the following review helpful. Not bad for the price, couple of warnings regarding inputs By IronChefMIk First things first.

If you are just looking for a projector to show movies on/video games, this is not a bad option, especially considering the low price. This review will focus mostly on the things that you may want to know about the project. The projector quality is not bad (for a $200 project) when showing movies on a large wall. I've watched videos with approximately a 100' diagonal and videos do not look terrible. The projector comes with an 2' HDMI, Component Cable, VGA and S-Video cable. A lot of people have already mentioned this regarding the aspect radio so I will just mention some of the other issues I ran into.

At farther distances, text is pretty much unreadable even with HDMI cables so I would not recommend this for business presentations. The biggest issue that I have with the projector is the poor design of the inputs. The first thing I tried to do was hook up my Nintendo 64.

The composite inputs on the projector sit flush into the plastic with a very small gap. This means that because (like several other products) the N64's cables have plastic around the ends, that does not fit into the projector.

I had to cut/tear the plastic off around end of the cables to get them to fit. The second input issue is the VGA input. It sits right next to a raised piece of plastic on the projector. So any VGA cable (including the one that comes with the projector) will not sit deep into the input because the plastic lets you only push it in so far (just far enough for it to work). The projector fan is a little loud, but if you are watching a movie, it is nothing too disruptive. The projector speakers are fine (nothing to write home about).

The projector does not have volume control beyond controlling it on the computer. So if you are playing games on it, you would have to change the volume in the game settings (assuming its an option) which is kind of annoying. Opera Mini 8 Handler Download there. There is a wheel on the side of the projector that lets you change the angle slightly, but there isn't away to adjust the angle of the projector aside from putting a book under it.

When using the adjusting wheel it makes the top/bottom of the projection require different focuses meaning that the top may be clear but the bottom wont be (not enough to be disruptive to a movie). In the end, you could definitely do worse, especially considering the price. If the things I mentioned above are breaking points for you, then you might want to spend a little more money. Update: I ran into the same issue with my PS2. The only way to plug one in, is to strip the rubber from around the cable (less than optimal solution). Update 12/3/13: I've been using this thing for almost a year and it still works.

Like I said, the quality of the projection leaves something to be desired, but if you are just looking for a cheap way to watch movies/tv on a wall, this will work.
