Drivers Allwinner A83t

This is the fourth Allwinner SoC which uses Power VR instead of MALI for GPU. See also SoCs A31, A31s and A80. The H8 and R58 are nearly identical variants of the A83T.

A83T SoC has slow (but good battery saving) cortex-a7 processors with old powervr gpu. In terms of performance, it is comparable with tegra2(cortex-a9). Intel Z3735F(v919) and intel 3735D(v975) are comparable Tegra4/Snapdragon800/A80T. An advanrage for A83T is price and profitability for Onda/Allwinner. I have no doubts f about what you saying, but original firmware looks like a alpha version! Love the tablet, but its pretty usesseles in the way it is. So (in the way you speak about the preocesor power and other components) you think that with a optimized firmware the tablet could run android without any problems?

Or maybe we just have wasted our money? A83T is not faster cpu/gpu, but 2g ram is enough to run most apps without problem. I think it is no problem to use normal use (browsing news web pages or watch 720p videos). If you have problem with google play or system crash, it may be fixed by future update. But if you have problem with slow scrolling or slow typing, these issues come from slow a83T. The v989(not air version) has been better performance on evey firmware updates.

Those improvements mainly comes from libraries(drivers) of PowerVR gpu which is provided from Imagination Technology. Becuase PowerVR g6000(rogue) series is still development. Anyone notice, that the screen is REALLY BRIGHT??? I would like to dim the backlight, perhaps this will improve the battery life. I get 3-4 hours of battery life with brightness at MINIMUM!

There are apps that claim to dim it more, but I get the idea the app is applying a filter screen giving you a dimmer screen, but not really dimming the backlight, and thus not improving battery life. I'm sure I can double battery life if we can dim the backlight more.

Also, any solution to the APP Space? I barely have 2GIG of APP space, with a 32G rom! Why didn't they format it 32G straight?
