I have had a P3AT (.380), I currently have a P-11 (9mm), and have a close friend with a PF-9.

My impressions of each, -P3AT, packs a good size kick(can result in poor accuracy), grip extensions will help tremendously, works well as a pocket gun. Low capacity was always in the back of my mind, plus ammo availability issues. -P-11, personally carry it every day now, it is wider than the P3AT and the PF9 (seems to fit my hand better). One of my good friends has owned 2 as well, neither of us have had any problems. My wife and I both have P32's and I also have a PF9. I have had zero problems with any of them. My PF9 is my daily carry in the summer, and I also pocket carry the P32 on many occasions. We went with the P32 since it has less recoil than the.380, and because it is 7+1 where the P3AT is 6+1. I understand there are other considerations and others would have chosen the.380, but this was my personal choice.

Whatever you get, I would strongly recommend something other than the standard blued finish. Get it in hard chrome or parkerized. IMO it boils down to purpose. If you wanted a gun the is easy to hold than you would get a 1911. But, as you stated, you have a SC.

So you already have the smallest of that capacity gun. What it looks to me like is you want to carry without the bulk and weight issues. I can get that. If you want a good small gun in a caliber other than a 32, 25, or 22 than you should get a 380. Is it as powerful as a 9mm. But it does it's job and I would rather carry a 380 than no gun at all. For those who poo poo the P3AT they have their own reasons.

I personally carry a P3AT daily as a bug. It does pack a punch but this is not the gun I go blow 1000 rounds at the range with. I would rather have a punchy gun than no gun. I have also shot the LCP, Bersa Thunder and I own a Kahr P380. The LCP is a great gun.

Would I buy it over the Kel-Tec? If they were side by side at the same price? The Bersa is nice too. It is better in the grip department.

But to me if I'm going to get a bigger gun, I'm going to find a smaller 9mm. My favorite is the Kahr P380. I have a write up on it.

I compare it to the Kahr CW9 and the Kel-Tec P3AT. I had some problems with it but Kahr resolved them for me. This gun shoots really nice. It is just pricey and hard to find. That is my $.02.
